AN INTRODUCTION FROM LORD MACLAURIN,
PROJECT PRESIDENT

The Chance Encounter Project is a wonderful opportunity to raise valuable funds for an amazing charity, Hope for Tomorrow, and at the same time say a big thank you to the NHS team who are always there whenever we need them.

Christine Mills the founder of the charity Hope for Tomorrow and a very dear friend, was very enthusiastic about the Project and thankfully before her passing was able to see parts of the film Chance Encounter - a film dedicated to Christine and her husband David.

Many of us who have spent years raising funds for charities know just how difficult it can be, so I am delighted to lend my support to this wonderful project, and I look forward to being part of a successful Chance Encounter - The Journey Goes On project. My personal thanks for your generous support.

CHANCE ENCOUNTER - THE JOURNEY GOES ON, GEOFFREY BRAY,  CHAIRMAN

On the stage of the Regal Theatre in Minehead, May 18th, 2019, I expressed my sincere thanks for the amazing contribution from many volunteers who had helped create the film Chance Encounter. I also thanked the sponsors, supporters and importantly, guests who had purchased tickets – we raised a staggering sum of £26,540 – a huge thank you.

There are 14 mobile cancer care units operating throughout the UK and each unit costs around £200 a day to operate. Together with the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, Hope for Tomorrow introduced a mobile cancer care unit, affectionately known as ‘Bumble’, in 2010 to provide a much-needed service for many patients throughout the Taunton area. Currently, ‘Bumble’ is providing reserve cover for other NHS partners across the country.

The Chance Encounter – The Journey Goes On project will include a dining experience on the West Somerset Railway and a 1963 spectacular rock ‘n’ roll show at the Regal Theatre, Minehead. If you can, please help our project.

All funds raised will continue to support the charity, Hope for Tomorrow and,

at the same time, provide an opportunity to say thank you to members of the NHS team.

THE CHANCE ENCOUNTER LEGACY
IN MEMORY OF CHRISTINE AND HILARY

The Chance Encounter Project was influenced enormously by two very inspirational ladies. Christine Mills MBE, founder of the charity Hope for Tomorrow and Hilary May MBE, Hope for Tomorrow ambassador in Somerset.

The personal involvement of these two wonderful people in the Chance Encounter Film Project, plus the support of many of their friends and family helped us to achieve the objective of raising a substantial amount of money for the charity.

All future Chance Encounter events will be dedicated to the memory of Christine and Hilary. We are blessed with the knowledge that we have these guiding angels influencing everything that we do.
